These arrived on a bright, sunny day, so I got to try them out immediately. I wore them as I did yard work and then as I was driving to the gym. I like them. Sunglasses are one of those things I tend to lose or misplace, just like reading glasses, umbrellas and combs. I like having several pair around for that reason. There were three in this package, so perhaps I'll be able to hold on to one or more for a while. Although made of plastic, these are better quality than the cheap dollar-store sunglasses I've tended to buy. These fit my head just right. They don't squeeze my temples too hard, and they are not loose or prone to falling off. Your mileage on this aspect might vary, of course. The most important point is that they do the job while keeping the world sharp. The sales description says they are non-polarized yet provide UV protection. The lenses are sufficiently dark and they cut down glare. Details in the landscape remain clear: No more having to remove my sunglasses to read a road sign! Don't expect a high-end or super-stylish pair of sunglasses. For what they are—sturdy plastic—they are pretty good, and you get three of them in the box. The "retro" style is kind of funky, but I'm OK with that. I sure look cool in them in the mirror (in my unbiased opinion).

    These glasses are sick. The style is awesome – it's like steam punk meets modern black. I love that the tint on the lens are adjustable making them wearable in any situation. If it's sunny outside, just turn up the tint and when you're inside, you can just turn them down so you don't have to take them off and have them get crushed in your pockets or something. Although it is worth mentioning that these come with a sweet protective carrying case that will do a good job protecting them if not being worn. The lens are slightly thicker due to the adjustability feature, but it's not anything that is too noticeable and if anything, in my opinion, adds to the solid durable feel of the glasses. Overall, I highly recommend for both style and functionality.

    Helped with my Mazda Heads Up Display (HUD) while reducing glare.

    There are a number of reviews saying these are not polarized… I'm not sure what product these reviewers received, but the lenses I got are definitely polarized.

    I got these because I was having problems with a heads up display in my Mazda… other polarized sunglasses I'd gotten would darken up the HUD, and if I tilted my head one way, the display would get darker, and the other way, it would get brighter.

    With these, I can adjust them to maximize the HUD display while still reducing glare… in both eyes. It seems to be a good solution.

    Interestingly my two computer displays seem to be polarized differently… I can rotate the lens so that one of the displays is blacked out… and if I rotate it to a different location, it blacks out the other one. I'm not recommending using these with computer displays, but I just found that interesting.

    The markings on the rotatable front lenses for "Max" and "Min" don't match the maximum and minimum brightness of what is viewed through the lenses, (not even close!) but if I'm rotating them for comfort and visibility, that doesn't seem too important.

    I Wanted To Like These

    I really wanted to like these. Having the ability to adjust tint levels sounded like a really great feature, especially as someone who frequently gets migraines causing me to be light sensitive so it would allow me to adjust to the sensitivity I need indoors/outdoors. Along with allowing for adjustments to be made for varying levels of sunshine throughout the day for regular non-migraine related use.

    Unfortunately, these were not as functional as I had hoped. The mirroring on the lenses made it very difficult to see in any kind of brightly lit area, which is exactly when you would want sunglasses. Everything behind me was way too visible which was both distracting and irritating to my eyes to adjust to. The mirroring would get worse the darker the tint was made, which is also counterproductive as you would want dark lenses for bright lights, just for that bright light to be reflected into your eyes anyway.

    The overall appearance of the glasses was nice. They are aesthetically interesting to look at. And they aren't the kind of sunglasses to obnoxiously stand out in a crowd. Rather they are unique and fun in design. In addition to appearance, they are sturdy and have a little pleasant weight to them due to the metal adjustment portion. It makes them feel well-made. The adjustment portion was also not hard to figure out. You could choose to have two different shades if you really wanted, but the notches make for clear indicators on how to make them equal in shade level and they don't move on their own so they shouldn't un-adjust accidentally.

    Overall, I just can't recommend these as more than a very short-term statement piece for something like a costume that you immediately take off. And that just isn't worth it if you want something functional and pretty.
