These hiking shorts fit true to size in Medium. I got the Dark Navy, and the color is true to the listing photo. Overall, the shorts feel well made. I have tried several garment pieces from this brand now, and I continue to be impressed by its sewing and seam quality. The stitching looks clean, the waistband is nicely finished, and the drawstring feels sturdy rather than flimsy. The elastic waistband plus cinch rope also makes the fit more secure and adjustable. The pocket design is practical. The regular side pockets are deep, and the hidden zip pouch on the right side is a nice touch for keeping a key, card, or small item more secure during outdoor activities. That said, the fabric is not my favorite. The outside feels slightly rough and dry, while the inside feels softer and more elastic. When moving around, the shorts make a noticeable “sandy” swishing noise, which I personally do not love. Because of that texture and sound, I am not sure these would be my first choice for long-distance hiking where comfort matters over many hours. For jogging, casual outdoor wear, fishing, yard work, or shorter walks, I think they would work well. They are clearly made with good construction and practical details, but the fabric feel keeps them from being my favorite pair.

These shorts feel genuinely lightweight and use a true quick‑dry fabric with real stretch in both directions. A lot of shorts claim to be stretchy and barely move — these actually do, and it makes them very comfortable for hiking or everyday wear. Sizing is where things get confusing. The listing photos show waist sizes that don’t match the actual tag sizing. I ordered a Small because the listing photo suggested it would fit a 34–36" waist, but the tag on the shorts says 30, and that’s exactly how they fit. They’re too small for me, but the elastic waistband still stretches enough that I could get them on. If I had followed the size guide instead of the listing photo, I would have ordered a Large (34). So the right approach is: choose your size based on the size guide, not the waist numbers shown in the listing images. The stitching on these shorts is excellent. All the pocket seams are clean and even, but the standout is the elastic waistband construction. It uses a wide 2‑inch elastic with multiple rows of stitching — two tight rows at the top, two more in the middle, and a reinforced multi‑stitch row at the bottom. It looks solid, feels solid, and holds up when you pull on it. Even the side seams and back areas use that same reinforced stitching, which gives me confidence these will hold up well over time. The pockets are great. They’re deep, have a bit of stretch, and inside the right pocket there’s a full‑length zipper pocket that’s subtle but extremely useful for keys or a phone. There’s a soft drawstring, clean stitching throughout, and a faux fly flap that looks like a zipper but isn’t. In size Small, the shorts sit about two inches above my kneecap, so a Medium or Large would sit a bit lower. The fabric is the standout feature. I ran them under the sink for a few seconds and the water beaded right off. A quick shake and the shorts were completely dry — not even a damp spot left. It’s some of the most impressive water‑resistant fabric I’ve seen in this category. Overall, these are lightweight, stretchy, and extremely water‑resistant hiking shorts with excellent stitching and great pockets. Just make sure to order using the size guide, not the waist numbers shown in the listing photos.

I've had good luck with these hiking shorts. My first impression was that they have almost the same stretch and comfort as basketball shorts, but with the look of regular casual or hiking shorts. The 8" inseam is a good length and the hybrid nylon/spandex material gives them a unique feel. They’re also supposed to be water-resistant. They feel very breathable and fit true to size. I wear a large (I am 200#) and the fit was spot on for me. The elastic waistband and drawstring also make it easy to dial in the perfect fit exactly how you like it. The pockets have good depth, but the hidden inside zip pocket is another great feature. It is perfect for keeping small items secure while hiking, traveling, or just wearing them casually. I use it for securing my money clip. Overall, these shorts are super comfortable and hard to beat. I do think they could be priced slightly lower in comparison to my other shorts in this price range, so the value takes a small hit, but they are still very capable and solid shorts. You would not be disappointed with them. I’m definitely not.

Lightweight fabric that is breathable although the textured finish is a little rougher feeling on the outside. Wide stronger elastic waist, supplemented by a tie draw string that can be tied tighter. Nice deep front pockets with a deep zipped pocket to keep items from falling out. Size for me ran a bit small. I normally take a small, but according to the size chart the small is 32-34" waist and I am a 31" waist so I was concerned a small would be too large for me. I ordered a XS as it said it was for a 30-32" waist, but it was a bit tight as can be seen in the pictures. Stick with your regular size and it should be OK……

Nice deep front pockets with a deep zipped pocket to keep items from falling out. Size for me ran a bit small. I normally take a small, but according to the size chart the small is 32-34" waist and I am a 31" waist so I was concerned a small would be too large for me. I ordered a XS as it said it was for a 30-32" waist, but it was a bit tight as can be seen in the pictures. Stick with your regular size and it should be OK……
