I work outdoors and sometimes the day starts off and ends pants weather but shorts are needed when hot. I bought a pair of Columbia cut offs last year and was… disappointed. These though seem promising. A heavier, nicer, stretchier, material then the Columbia and I ordered a size 32×34 which is slightly bigger than I need but perfect usually im a 32×32. And even then normally I feel like I need a 31×33 to be spot on. The shorts don't feel like boxers at this length, but unless I hem the legs I'll need to wear boots. Water beads up nicely. Long term survivability is still to be tested. I took a star because the pockets leave room for improvement. The ones near the knees aren't very substantial (my wallet or phone won't fit) and the vertical placement means you can't just leave it open like cargo shorts.
So far, I love them. They are super-comfy, like pajama pants. The thin material is strong and light, perfect for a light hike. The material is somewhat stronger around the knees and more stretchy around the waist/hip. These are not constructed to be used in extreme conditions or constant abrasion. If your hikes are more like long walks amongst the trees, then these will be fine. If you find yourself squeezing elephant dung for moisture, sliding down granite cliff crevices (kreh-VAH-sess), giving yourself rainwater enemas you may want something beefier, Mr. Grylls. These pants are great for regular folks and I am considering making these part of my regular clothing (not just for getting lost in the woods). For $30 or so, these are terrific.
Excellent fit and love they allow picking an exact size (as opposed to S-M-L) so 36w 30l was perfect since that is my size. Comfortable, nice stretch, and pockets are well designed with 5 roomy ones and 1 small pocket. The thing I am unsure about are the seams above and below the knees so the material around the knees is different than above and below; maybe that helps durability and stretch but seems a tad odd to have in hiking type pants. Pictures show the seams but hard to see the material difference (since color is the same) which again may be a functional benefit or not.
These are great pants for traveling. PROS VERY comfortable with the two-way stretch fabric. Nice looking. Actually used these for dinner wear on a river cruise after I forgot to bring slacks. Wash and wear very nicely. Do not wrinkle badly when packed. Dry quickly. Comes with a light, nylon belt. Multiple zippered pockets. Reasonable price – much cheaper than buying similar Columbia brand wear. CONS Not water repellent. Light water exposure will initially bead up, but they soak up water pretty quickly after that. These have pretty much become my 'Go To' pants for travel. Nice enough looking for casual wear and maybe slightly beyond casual – the contrasting zipper pulls 'dress them down'. Those could be changed if it really mattered.
Bought these as hiking pants, to replace BDUs. I will start with what I feel are positive attributes. The fabric is lightweight and packs small. It also does dry quickly. While hiking I got them fairly wet from dew on bushes. Once out in the open, they dried out nicely. They also felt sufficiently airy that I was not uncomfortable hiking when it was 80F. When I got home I got them soaked in the sink to really see how quickly they dried. I figured maybe I would need to wash them at the end of the day and this would be a reasonable test of that. After getting them waterlogged, I hung them in my shower and wenr to bed. They were dry when I woke in the morning. I imagine hanging them up outside my tent with a breeze, they would likely dry quicker. While hiking I did manage to fall on my ass. They did not tear. I thought it might happen as the fabric is thin. My main complaint with these pants is why I gave 3 stars. The leg pockets are quite useless. The right leg pocket is not much larger than a standard US driver license. If you carry a money clip you would probably be ok, but you wont fit much more than that. The left leg pocket is much morr useless. Cargo pockets are normally on the side of the thigh. This one, its on the front of the thigh. I tried walking with my phone in there, couldnt do it. Its just too annoying having something on the front of the leg when walking. The pocket ia a good size, but its just in a bad spot. The bad pocket design ruin the utility of these pants for hiking in my opinion. I do feel they would be great for motorcycle camping where the crappy pockets are not an issue. The thin fabric means they will easily fit under protective riding pants and wont take up much space when packed. This is how I will use the pair I bought
These fit like relaxed Wranglers or Levis. The cargo pockets are a little strange. The right cargo pockets is too small for a wallet. I bought two pairs, and the belts are slightly different sizes. Overall they are a reasonable value for the money. I asked my mom to hem these for me, and the material was really hard to work with, because it's a little rubbery, and seems to be heat bonded on the inside. It kept skipping stitches. She's a pro, so it's definitely due to the material, not her skill level. I think she said it needs a round needle instead of a pointy one, but I might have that backwards.

The description of this product doesn't reflect on actual. My apology for my negative feedback. I just found the description of this item is misleading. Start with the materials; made of Nylon & Spandex comfort-stretch fabric, more breathable and quick dry. quick dry possibly yes, a little stretch but i don't think is breathable. fabric is so thin. Yes its lightweight, comfortable, and but not very high-quality pair of hiking pants. The photo presentation looks very nice on shape with the legs means pants, but ok if you used if as a short. Not trying to be fashionable but doesn't look good for a pants. I was surprise with the star rating. Thats why a bought it due to star rating. Just unlucky i missed the free return policy because I don't normally return stuff that bought online. I wish I could still return it. My apology again for this feedback. el producto esta muy buena calidad, el servicio de entrega es pesimo, me comentaron que mi producto ya lo habian entregado a la puerta de mi casa y despues decian que el propietario lo recibio y todas esas eran MENTIRAS. la atencion era fatal y me hicieron perder tiempo en llamadas y reportes, al final me dicen que me rembolsaran el costo y una semana despues me llega el producto.
