Really like the talon 6 waist pack. The belt is very comfy, very adjustable. The water sleeves on the side are great for pint/half liter bottles. 2 liters of water bottles is a little too heavy, but doable. 1.5 liters for 5 mile desert hikes is what I use it for. Love this pack for short hikes in desert.

We did several day hikes this summer in Maine/New Hampshire and this was a perfect little pack. Held water for 2 of us. A couple of snacks, my asthma inhaler, EpiPen & keys with room to spare. It was a little warm but compared to other waist packs I’ve owned this was a huge improvement. Finally, it fit myself, my husband and our son, so don’t pay any attention to the gender description. For a backpack sure, but this, not necessary.

My husband and I like to day hike. We switched from backpacks to fanny packs many years ago. I don't think my husband ever had a fanny pack that stayed around his waist until now. The Osprey Talon 6 does. Took awhile to make room for all of the stuff he likes to carry and to find good water bottles that fit. The holders are easily accessible. The bottles slide in and out while wearing the fanny pack, but don't fall out. The belt pockets are nice. The waistband is comfortable as is the back padding. And the blue color is beautiful.

Overall, a reliable and comfortable waist pack for those who prefer a lightweight setup. Perfect for short hikes, trail runs, or multi-sport activities!

Took it on my first hike and loved it! Had two water bottles and snacks and I couldn’t even tell I was wearing it!

When I'm doing a simple day hike I prefer to not wear a backpack because it interferes with a sling-style hands free leash I use with my dog. This sometimes means that I end up not having things I'd otherwise want to carry (snacks, rain jacket, etc.) This day pack is a great solution for my needs.
On the positives, I really like the size and build quality of the pack. The main compartment is large enough for me to store both a rain jacket and plenty of snacks. There is a secondary compartment attached to the main that is a perfect for a wallet and even has a hook to attach a set of keys. In addition to those two compartments, there is also a sizable compartment built into each of the side straps. Unlike other bags I have from Osprey where these strap compartments are too small to hold a phone, these ones can handle my large iPhone 16Pro Max in a bulky case. More snacks or other gear can fit inside these as well.
The fit is comfortable for the pack and I think the lumbar suspension does help with heat buildup. The one negative I'll call out is that the water bottle pockets are just a little too small for some of my larger bottles. My 36oz stainless steel rambler fits fine, but the same brand/style in 46oz won't. It's close so maybe it would stretch enough with some use, but I'd be afraid of potentially popping a seam so I'll just stick with the smaller bottle. If I could deduct a half star for this I would, but since I I feel the bag is another pretty high quality Osprey design I'll round up to 5.
